UK GI Strategy renamed

At the April 2007 GI-Panel it was proposed that, as government's were concerned with location rather than geography, it should be renamed the UK Location Strategy; should be linked to INSPIRE and therefore led from Defra. Read more about the renaming of UK GI Strategy.

GIS Customer Focus Group

We run a GIS Customer Focus Group which meets 3 or 4 times a year to discuss GIS issues and to ensure customer input into the framework agreements we manage. Customers are encouraged to attend our meetings - the next will be held from from 1:30pm on Tuesday 13th November at the Treasury Building, 1 Horse Guards Road, London, SW1A 2HQ.

Feedback from our customers is used to produce appropriate framework agreements for use by the whole of the public sector.

Flora London Marathon - Training Route Planner

For the exercise junkies or those simply trying to get/stay in shape here is a very handy tool that can help you plan and measure your running (or walking, or cycling) routes. Don't be put off by the word "marathon", by using this tool you are not committing yourself in anyway to run the London Marathon!

(Infoterra, Bluesky, and The Geoinformation Group, suppliers on the current GIS Framework supplied a significant amount of the aerial imagery used in this tool)
