Communications with suppliers

For category management to work successfully, strong lines of communication between Buying Solutions, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders will be essential.

This will deliver the depth of understanding of customers' circumstances and requirements - and facilitate opportunities for suppliers to innovate and commit to the long term relationships that deliver the most benefits for all.

This is reflected in the way our category teams have been established. Each category's dedicated Senior Product Marketing Manager will be tasked to ensure that productive relationships and communications channels are maintained at all times.

Suppliers Forum

Given the changes that have been taking place at Buying Solutions it was decided not to hold our annual conference for suppliers - Suppliers' Forum - in 2007.

We are currently assessing the most effective way forward for Suppliers' Forum, for example, whether to hold a single event at one venue, or whether it would be more productive to hold a series of events focused on each category.

We look forward to canvassing your opinions and an announcement on what happens in 2008 will be made in the near future.
